Friday 26th February 2021
Dear Colleagues,
Following the further postponement of IAU Symposium 361: Massive Stars Near and Far to May 2022, the SOC and LOC decided to hold a Virtual Preview Meeting where early-career researchers (ECRs) will have the opportunity to present their research to the community. This will take place via Zoom talks during the week of 3-7 May 2021. The talks will be live, but also recorded and made available (with permission from the speaker) for participants from other time-zones.
We are opening a limited call for new abstracts, recognising that it is 18 months since the original call for IAUS361 and that there have been plenty of exciting new discoveries since then. The number of slots will be on the order of ten, because we already have quite a few talks by ECRs from the original programme.
The abstract deadline is Wednesday the 10th of March (i.e. almost two weeks from now). This short turnaround is required because the SOC need to consider the abstracts and we want to finalise the programme at least a month before the meeting begins.
Please submit your abstract here.
Best regards,
Jorick & Jonathan (on behalf of the SOC)
